Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman: A Leading Scholar In The Field of Power Electronics

Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman was born in 1960 in Thakurgaon, Bangladesh. He received his B. Sc. Engineering degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) from Rajshahi Engineering College, Bangladesh in 1984 with flying colors. He was among the top 5 students in his department in 1984. He received his M. Tech degree in Industrial Electronics from S. J. College of Engineering, Mysore, India in 1992 and received his Ph. D. degree in energy and environment electromagnetic from Yeungnam University, South Korea, in 2000.

Dr. Fayzur was a Professor in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) and served as HOD of the same department. He also served as departmental head for two years in the EEE department and 2 years in the ETE department of Daffodil International University. After that he joined in the EEE department of Green University of Bangladesh on January 2016 and served as Chairperson of the EEE department for 4 years. He was also the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Green University. At present, he is working as a Professor in the same department and Treasurer of the University. 

Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman has over 300 citations for his research work, more than two-thirds of which are within the last 5 years. His current research interests are Energy and Environment Electromagnetic, Power Electronics & Machine Control, Solis State Transformer, and High Voltage Discharge Applications. He is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers (IEB), Bangladesh, and a Life Member of the Bangladesh Electronic Society.
