Dr. Molla Shahadat Hossain Lipu is currently working as Chairperson of the Department of EEE at Green University of Bangladesh (GUB). He completed his undergraduate program in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at IUT, Gazipur in 2008. He pursued his M.Sc. in Energy from the School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD), Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand in 2013. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical, Electronic, and Systems Engineering from the National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia), UKM, Malaysia, in 2019. His main research fields are battery energy storage, renewable energy, smart grid, power electronics, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, optimization, and intelligent systems.
Dr. Hossain joined the World University of Bangladesh as a lecturer in the Dept. of Mechatronics Engineering in 2009. Within a short time, he left the job and joined the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) as a lecturer in the Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2014. He worked as a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) at the National University of Malaysia from April 2016 to August 2019. After completing his Ph.D. degree, he joined the same university as an assistant professor in the Dept. of Electrical, Electronic, and Systems Engineering.
Dr. Hossain is renowned for his contributions in the fields of battery energy storage and artificial intelligence. He supervised four undergraduate students and currently supervises four Ph.D. students. He received four research grants. He has 86 research articles in different international journals and international conferences with 2893 citations (14 h-index and 16 i10-index). He also works as a guest editor for Sustainability MDPI as well as a reviewer for different reputed journals.
