The future lies in using Renewable energy

This is certain that Human activity has made our earth get hotter since the industrial revolution. Burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, over fishing or the exotic food trend, power plant carbon burning and ocean contamination triggered the global warming. As a result, we are seeing the polar ice sheets melting, which making the see level rise. Meaning beaches will erode and coasts will flood. Now, we have already done irreversible damage but we can still maintain and mitigate any further impact. To do that we must stop any further temperature increases and reduce our emissions and stop deforestation and switch to renewable energy sources.

Renewable energy is a term for clean, sustainable energy that’s derived from naturally regenerating sources. Combining these natural sources and modern technology we can harness more power and energy to produce electricity or more. It is able to not only generate more energy than we need, but often lasts for as many generations as the earth will sustain.

Renewable energy sources are mainly natural resources like energy from the sun, from the wind, from water (tidal power, hydro), hydrogen, from organic matter (biomass, geothermal) etc.

Renewable energy emits no or low greenhouse gases and pollution which is good for the climate and better for our health. It comes with low costs. That’s good for keeping energy prices at affordable levels. Also, the energy system is flexible and secure. That’s good for stability.

Renewable energy can be used in all energy sectors: from power production and thermal comfort in buildings to industry and transport. There are plenty of cities in the world that already source 100 percent of their electricity from renewables. Now, they are taking steps to expand their ambitions to get rid of fossil fuels in heating, cooling, transport and industry (CDP and ICLEI, 2021)
